XS & XA Tactical Actions
One major gripe that managers have is their inability to change their team’s style and approach to different matches that run in the same turn, particularly when facing much different quality of opposition, playing at home in a league match and away midweek in the cup, etc.
This is something that is being addressed, and that begins with the introduction of the XS and XA Actions. These will regulate a team’s ability to alter their style of play (XS), and their aggression (XA), during the running of a match. These actions will adjust a team’s style and aggression according to the wishes of their manager, and depending on the situation of the match at that particular moment.
The following is an aid to understanding this new addition to Necom, and is described in further detail in the latest edition of the newsletter.
XS and XA must be used in the Tactical Actions section of the return sheet only (boxes numbered 13 through 24) and use five of the six allotted spaces; as follows –
(1) The first box is used for either XS or XA, depending whether you wish to change your style (XS) or aggression (XA)
(2) The second box is used for choosing which type of match you wish to change your approach for; as follows –
(a.) 0 - all matches that turn
(b.) 1 - league match only
(c.) 2 - cup matches
(d.) 3 - friendly match
(3) The third box is used for choosing which minute of the match you want your choice to be implemented – with 0 being from the very start of the game and 46 being at half-time
(4) The fourth box is used for choosing under what circumstances you want your choice to come into effect; as follows –
(a.) 0 - any scoreline
(b.) 1 - if your team is winning
(c.) 2 - if your team is drawing
(d.) 3 - if your team is losing
(5) The fifth box is used for the new style/aggression you wish to play; depending whether you’ve chosen XS or XA
EXAMPLES:
XS 2 0 0 321
would see your team changing style (XS) for cup matches (2) from the start (0 mins) regardless of score (0) to 321 style
XS 3 46 3 333
would see your team changing style (XS) for friendly games (3) from half time (46 mins) if your team is losing (3) to 333 style
XA 1 70 2 888
would see your team changing aggression (XA) for league matches (1) on 70 minutes (70 mins) if your team is drawing (2) to an 888 aggression
XA 0 80 0 999
would see your team changing aggression (XA) for all matches that turn (0) on 80 minutes (80) regardless of the scoreline (0) to a 999 aggression rating
Things To Note
- The style and aggression you pick originally, in boxes 1-12, still take preference for all matches in the turn, unless specifically altered in the Tactical Actions boxes 13 - 24
- If you have more than one cup match in a single turn all the games of the same type will be bound by the same selections – you cannot choose different XS and XA actions for each different cup and friendly match
