Rules of the Competition
General Rules
Necom Games will generously provide the prize money for this season's BMIC, which will be dispersed as follows;
Winners - £7million
Runners-Up - £4m
Third Place - £2m
Group Winner's Prize Pool - £5m
Top Goalscorer's Club - £2m
Please Note:
It is the responsibility of the 'Home' manager to organise each scheduled match. If a listed match is not completed victory is automatically awarded to the away team (by a 3-0 scoreline) and this will be strictly enforced. There will be absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS
Should an error be made for whatever reason - whether the cause of the Home manager or not - (namely Necom or mistype, etc.) the same rule is applied, as listed above. On no occasion will the penalty be overturned or removed, or the match replayed, due to the constrained time frame in which to play ties.
If a team within a Group becomes unmanaged once the fixtures have begun wins are awarded as 3-0 victories, as noted above, to the away team, due to the failure to fulfill the match. However the managed club must still play their home match regardless of the opposition being unmanaged. Also, matches already played in the fixtures will stand as they had been previously played. In the case of a withdrawal while in the knock-out stages the opposing team wins through to the next round.
The Group Stages
The composition of the Group Stages will be as follows;
Four Groups Of Five (A-D), with both the winners and runners-up of each group going through to Quarter-Finals. The group's matches will be run in;
Weeks 3, 6, 9 and 12 with the HOME TEAM responsible for putting the tie down as listed.
In the event of a tie in the final standings of a Group the overall places, and qualification, will be decided by;
(a) Superior Goal Difference
(b) Superior Goals Scored
(c) Head To Head Aggregate
(d) Number Of Matches Won In The Group
(e) Earliest Goal Scored In The Final Round Of Group Matches
(f) Lots Drawn
The Knock Out Stages
Both home and away matches for each Knock-Out Stage match are to be played in the same turn, so as no advantage regarding injury, suspension, etc. is gained by any one team. An aggregate score determines the winner of each knock out tie, with away goals counting as double if necessary, in case of a drawn score total. In the event of a tie a reply will be played before the next round.
The Quarter Finals will be played Week 15, the Semi-Finals on Week 18, the Third Place Play-Off on Week 20 and the Final on Week 21.
Procedure For Draws
Draws are made live, and are open and unbiased in terms of division, league and standing. Any number of teams from any division or league can be drawn into the same group, However teams with the same manager must be drawn into separate groups and the first draw is final. Dates and times will be posted on the relevant thread, and will be updated while the draw is taking place.
There will be separate draws for the Group Stages and the Knock-Out Stages, including Semi-Finals.
Unlikely Events
Should two or more matches be played in the same week (i.e. two exact friendlies are played by the manager, or Necom, by mistake, etc.) the first and original fixture listed in the results section of 'Zoo Lane' is taken as the result, and no other score is accepted.
Please Note:
The rules, as listed above, will be strictly enforced and no discussion will be entered into regarding their breaking or parity. Should any new/updated rule be added/altered they will appear in the above list, with the modification note at the bottom being the only notification offered.
