This is the place to be. There are loads of knowledgeable managers around,
always ready to answer your questions. But before you answer a question we've
had before, why not check out the F.A.Q.
and if it's not there, do a search on the boards to make sure there isn't a thread already.

Following on from another thread... Can we discuss everyones thoughts on transfer weeks. I know they were implemented to stop cheating but its killing the game/ slowing it right down.
Necom is a completely different game / slower to what it was back in the day. The weeks have just slowed the game right down to the point were you make a few signings and then you sort of sit in the background submitting turns until theyre off weeks.
Its more difficult for managers who love to deal and want to change their team up weekly. I think it needs a vote/ proper discussion with us potentially compromising with neil on a standard set weeks because 21 weeks / end of the season is ridiculous.
If you buy a few players (especially off auction) your wiped out for the rest of the season. Back in the day you would buy to swap, e.g i got DCL and Ineanacho on the auction list. Both went onto 21 weeks... both 81ovs but obv could be used in a deal for a 83ov striker. But kills it for me because i have to wait until the end of the season before i can do any deals which stops the game dead to the point now were im just submitting my teams for games each turn as appose to getting excited about potential signings inboxing people for deals.
"You disgust me and thats why i'll never deal with you. Another one struck off my list for GOOD" (Bob, thread 61633)
There was managers helping others and buying their trash just for the sake of it and to get another out debt. Then auction off those players.
Same for OOC, bringing in a player on 600k a week and then auctioning him off or swapping within the minimum amount of weeks, this new rule makes manager's think twice about buying for the sake of it, and also about over spending.
The weeks apply to loans too, I think the whole weeks thing is aimed towards a player can only play for two clubs in a season, which is more realistic.
It should prevent certain managers who are hoarding players and not playing them, to maybe do some deals, they want em, dont play them, but dont want anybody else to have in case the player gets a bump...
Its a all a little sad really that it has to be like this, cos obviously there are managers who like to wheel and deal , personally, doesn't really bother me, just do deals on week 18 and they'll be off weeks come week 1 of the following season.

I like the weeks. Stops players moving on 5mins after they've signed for a club. Maybe the 21weeks is a bit much, possibly it could be 12weeks for any player which might suit some. Doesn't really bother me either way, I don't buy players really lol.
It's also a very good addition for loans like Pat said, once the player comes back on weeks the managers under pressure to play them (I've seen a player whose played 4games in 6 seasons odd for parent club) or risk losing them. All helps the game, and a bit more realistic (Chelsea loaning out 250 players a season is an exception!!)
Scarborough (64) manager - any other accusations of teams are false and may be tempted to take action for slander. UP THE MINSK LOYAL
If the main reason for the weeks increase was to stop cheating and helping mates out of debt etc, but the players who join around wk18 are free to leave again come wk1, surely the cheating can simply happen then? So it wouldn't stop it, but simply focus the time it could happen?
But yeah, killing deals for me, and as someone who has historically moved players around more than many, is killing the game for me. Yes it may help to do one thing, but definitely harming another. Trying to change a squad from one to another has no simple middle stepping stones anymore.
And while I like the loans tweaks in principle, I think it should only apply to loans started AFTER the tweak, so managers know before loaning players, rather than being hit by it as an unfair surprise.
Mr.Necom: Bonus point for the Trevor to Kidrock. Which makes him the winner. Rich and Jinky second, Bob and Steve next. Thank you all for taking part and adding some more recent text to this shouty box bit. Will have to do something similar again at some point.

russellpalace: will game 19 get their turn returned today?

Mr.Necom: Yes, today. Now in fact. Emails started going out a couple of minutes ago. Turns a bit delayed as I didn't start them until 1 to give everyone a chance on the first one, and then the player reset takes over an hour to run through. With you now I hope.
