Firstly let me state that neither manager involved in the example I’m giving has had anything to do with this post, and the reason for me posting this, is because a similar situation happened with me in game 64 so just wanted to clarify a few things with regards to the transfer committee. And let me stress this isn’t a dig at the committee, I wouldn’t want the job that’s for sure, just wanting to make it clear I’m not having a pop, but I’m aware they wasn’t happy the last time I publicly questioned them.
As most of you might know, me and Russell are close friends in real life, so he has told me most of what has happened with this deal reversal.
For those that don’t know, this was the deal in question;
Week 17
Douglas Costa to Man City from Liverpool £16m
Jamie Vardy to Man City from Liverpool £31m
Benzema to Liverpool from Man City £26m
Thiago Silva to Liverpool from Man City £21m
I personally did think Liverpool got the better end of the deal, based on overalls, and because I don’t really care how old a player is. Whereas others prefer younger players, so can also see the reasoning for Man City for wanting to do it. So can’t see the grounds for a reversal, based on the actual deal itself.
I think the reason given for the reversal was that the Man City manager then resigned at the end of the season. If this is the case then there was a deal that took place between Udinese and Atletico Bilbao during the same week Pjanic swapped with Sabitzer, again nothing wrong with the deal, but with the Bilbao manager also quitting at the end of the season, will this deal also be reversed?
With that in mind, this is what I’m seeking clarification on, and I think it would benefit all of us if we knew. Apologies in advance if this has already been answered elsewhere. I’d like to know;
- How far back do the deals have to be reversed because a manager quit?
- Do the transfer committee have to get Neil’s approval when a reversal is agreed?
- Are you able to appeal a decision by the transfer committee?
- If a member of the transfer committee performs a suspicious deal, who decides on the outcome of the investigation?
One last thing, let’s say you sign a forward in a deal. Then sell or swap your other forwards as you no longer need them, but then the original deal is reversed, does Neil then have to reverse everything back to how it was before the original deal? Because that could get very messy!
Long winded I know, so thanks if you’ve read it all 😂
