To follow your logic Barnsey, if everyone who played Trivial Pursuit wrote to the people who made the game suggesting that a good change would be that they got a piece of pie if they kind of sort of almost maybe knew the answer to a question, do you think that would make it a better game? Or if Monopoly was changed so that if you landed on somebodys property then you didn't have to pay up - the bank did. Rules and problems and obstacles are there to make the game a challenge, not to make it easy and if you take them away, the game doesn't work so well. Take a look at the message boards for game 76 and see how the game suffered when the people in it wanted a rule or two taking out and others changing (I didn't particularly agree, but did it so long as they paid for half a season up front - now most would have already left had they not still got credit in there). The vast majority of suggestions people make would not improve League Soccer as a game, they may well make it easier for individual managers, or make things easier for everyone - they tend to be about making it easier to get players or increase the ratings of your players, or do transfers to rip teams off or whatever... but basically they are things that wouldn't work as they wouldn't make the game better.
I think you just have to accept that I've run this game for 20 years and probably have a pretty good grasp on what would work and what won't. That's not to say suggestions aren't a good thing, they are incredibly valuable and often do get brought in, but it is certainly to say that if I say something isn't any good, then it probably isn't. Just like Steve McManaman.
