something that still bugs me a little every time it happens (and it happens enough for me to bother you with it) is when i put staff on a player, on specific skill positions, and some of them decrease while unfocused upon skills remain the same.
i'm not saying the 3 (or more) coaches i've used should increase those specific skills every time, i'm simply saying that i think the positions that have coaches on them should not decrease; they should, at the very least, remain the same. imo.
this has happened many a time when i've had 3 coaches on a player, but today it happened when i had 6/7. for example, yesterday my player had the following ratings:
speed 80
agility 95
control 85
passing 65
heading 95
shooting 95
thinking 90
the player is a m/a, and i wanted them to be able to play ST or CF/AM, but also take freekicks. greedy, i know, but i put the following staff on him:
speed 80 - 2
agility 95 - 1
control 85 - 0
passing 65- 3
heading 95 - 1
shooting 95 - 1
thinking 90 - 1
and he now rates as follows:
speed 80 - 3 - 90
agility 95 -1 - 85
control 85 -0 - 85
passing 65- 3 - 75
heading 95 - 1 - 90
shooting 95 - 1 - 85
thinking 90 - 1 - 95
like i said, i'm not expecting all my coaches to be successful, but even here, where i have actively coached 6 of the 7 skills, i still think i should legitimately expect those 6 not to decrease? and yet here:
although speed increased by 2 spots, passing increased by 2, and thinking increased by 1 (which is GOOD )
the agility decreased 2 spots, heading decreased by 1, and shooting decreased by 2 (which is BAD )
while control, the only skill not to feature a staff member actively coaching it, remained the same (which is FRUSTRATING ).
i could find other examples where i've been simply trying to retrain someone to play RM, for example, and have placed coaches on the speed, agility & control skills, only to see one of those three increase at the expense of another. for example, to keep things simple, my player has the following ratings:
80 80 80 80 80 80 80
and i put one staff member on each of the first three. when i receive the next turn he could look something like this:
85 75 80 80 80 80 80
i don't think any of the skills that has a coach actively training it should decrease. they can remain the same, because maybe the coach didn't quite get through to the player, but i don't think it should decrease, especially at the expense of an uncoached skill.
with my 6/7 coaches today, i wouldn't have been happy if they all remained the same, but that would have made more sense and i could better accept it. but having an unstaffed skill do better than an actively trained one isn't right. imho.
so what do you think? do you think it's fine and realistic for the actively trained skills to decrease as well as stay the same or increase, or do you think these focused upon skills should at the very least remain the same?
many thanks for reading my ramble and voting. ;D
