Hey,
Can someone please tell me where the idea of 'Max Cash' came from?
I've been thinking about it for a while and have even e-mailed Neil about it last month, just to get a little clarification on it.
I understand that managers seem to be ruled by the idea of 1.5 times the player's value is the most that is acceptable by the computer for a transfer, or else the deal won't go through, but that's not the case. On the other hand it's something that seems to suit everyone, I'd just love to know where it comes from.
I know I'm not playing this game very long, since I came back last year at least, but the whole concept of an absolute figure was annoying me so I asked Mr. Necom himself. I always thought it was whatever the managers agreed, assuming nothing ridiculous going on. e.g. Messi to Bayern Munich for £2, or even £500m, that's where the computer kicks in.
Neil's reply was fairly simple,
'There is no 1.5 x figure. Transfers are blocked by the system if it feels the price is too high, but the maximum (and minimum) amounts are not such a simple calculation.'
so I'd love to know where this whole concept of 1.5 x value = magic number comes from.
Does anybody have any idea?
Obviously it's an easier calculator so managers can agree a deal without one looking too greedy but, clearly from Neil's response, it's not as simple as that.
I'm only asking 'cause it's the kind of thing that would irritate me, as those who know me a little better will understand.
Cheers,
Gerard
