After the best part of 2 years out of Necom Games management, Anthony Woods was last night confirmed as Inter Milan head coach. This appointment is sure to cause a lot of controversy, not least because of his hugely successful history with fellow-Milan giants AC.
Woods arrived into Milan on a privately chartered military aircraft, taking every possible precaution with the Covid-19 outbreak brutally ravaging Italy's population. Even though the entire country is subject to a complete lockdown, some Inter fans had somehow managed to find their way into Milan International... Giving Mr Woods their patented "Ultra" welcome.
Anthony Woods exited the airport under a police and armed forces escort to his private villa on the outskirts of the city. It is believed that arrangements have been made to limit his movements in the coming weeks, as the Coronavirus hopefully reaches its peak in Italy.
After seeing his accommodation he met with the Inter Milan president at the San Siro, keeping a socially acceptable 2 meter distance at all times. Surprisingly, a handful of us blood-sucking cockroach reporters were on hand when he finished to try and get an initial reaction.
One reporter shouted over, asking Mr Woods how he would adjust to life in Milan upon his return, given the outbreak situation and if he felt the AC Milan fans would understand his sudden jump to Inter. Another reporter then added, mentioning some names of managers Woods had clashed with in the past...
Anthony Woods then replied...
" To the first guy... The situation here in Italy is tough, really d**n tough. However we have to be brave and do what we can to make things better... It will take time. To the AC Milan fans i say this... We shared some amazing moments together, made memories that no one can ever take away from us. My heart will always be with AC... But my head right now is with Inter. its nothing personal... Its just business.
...and to that other reporter, mentioning those rivals from my past. Well, with all due respect... Those individuals have made their names over the years, just like i have. Sure, you won't find me getting a PAT on the back from them... and they can definitely expect me to BOB up and down on those touchlines when our teams meet, fighting tooth and nail for those victories!
...and if you are looking for your scoop in these tough times... You disgraceful vultures... Here it is...
To those "old rival" managers who think iv'e gone soft over the past 2 years out of the game, please accept my "well wishes". "
Friend or Foe... I'M COMING FOR YOU ALL.
