INTER MILAN ADD HUMMELS AND SILVA TO THEIR RANKS
Following on from the announcement yesterday, Inter Milan have announced 2 new signings. German international defender Mats Hummels and Spanish icon David Silva will be making their way to the San Siro on Monday.
Details are starting to emerge that seem to suggest a link between this deal and the Vardy for Milik swap yesterday.
KOKE POPS HIS CHERRY
Spanish international midfielder Koke has come to terms with an offer to join AFC Bournemouth.
His move will see him join forces with former Inter Milan star N'golo Kante. He is expected to line up against Inter in the Champions League group stages on Monday. Sources close to Inter Milan have described this transfer as "A blow for the team and its' fans but not a surprise".
TURMOIL AND SACRIFICE
Inter Milan head coach Anthony Woods has today broken his silence on all of the dealings this weekend.
" This all came about because of a training ground spat that turned into a full brawl. That is the truth of this. Koke has been in red hot form ever since joining us, while Vardy had also been on fire until very recently.
The sudden change in results caught all of us off-guard and was so severe it cost us the title last season. Unfortunately, tempers became frayed to breaking point coming into this season and something had to give.
Following the draw with PSG and the heavy loss to Crystal Palace in the Champions League, some players felt deeply upset with the performances of their fellow men. The worst of this was from Koke and Vardy. During our de-brief for the week, words were had between both players and this lead to a full-blown punch up.
I do not wish to see that again and in order to ensure that, they were both transferred at the earliest opportunity. I really wish it didn't have to come to that, but it did and I acted decisively for the sake of the club.
I can only hope that Milik, Hummels and Silva can come in and ease the tension in the team. We must move forward now together as a team. "
