Hello. A huge thank you to everyone for your emails this week, especially the three very angry folk who have sent the abusive sweary emails because something isn't quite right for them.
So here's some things, because obviously your emails will have gone in the bin and you aren't going to get a reply, so it's probably best that you read this rather than pretending you're being ignored again. Firstly, and very unfortunately, this isn't my full time job, or even part time job. To pay the mortgage, and eat, and put my kids through uni and everything else I actually do have to work. Sometimes that's quite exhausting. Also I ran a marathon on Sunday which was also quite exhausting, though admittedly that's a pretty self inflicted one. But I'm still a bit tired and tender. Also, as I realised when messaging returning hero Deci this morning, you've not had a price rise in I dunno, five, ten, whatever years. Maybe I should charge by the swear word in some of those emails. So if you're feeling angry that you haven't had a reply just be a little patient - sending four emails in the same day asking why you haven't been replied to probably won't help. I don't intentionally ignore anyone, and you will get a reply as soon as possible. Well, you will if you're not mean anyway.
Database players - these are added every couple of weeks, and if you give me a team to add them to then I'll put them straight in. Longest one waiting I can see is Rich from 11th April, will hopefully get those all put in tomorrow. Not an issue as far as I can see. Not for me anyway.
Ratings. So. If you think that a player is rated too highly on the database, then post on the ratings board. If you think a player is rated too low on the database then post ont he ratings board. His rating will then be looked at. And eventually I'll decide, helped with an ever changing panel of four managers. And that's it. If you don't agree with what I decide then unfortunately there's not a lot I can do about it. Just because you have a player in your squad it doesn't mean he should be rated higher than a player in someone elses squad. Jamie's post the other week was interesting, not that many of you bothered to join in, but I think most of you have an over inflated view of what a rating should be, particularly players you are fond of. That's quite understandable, but at the end of the day there's no bias, no favouritism, just a general idea of what a player should be that you may or may not agree on.
Players coaching up and down. So I've already explained the reasons behind what's going on here, but it seems to still make people angry so I'll just add one thing. If you don't like your players coaching up two or three points above their database rating and then dropping back again then just stop trying to coach them to two or three points above their database rating. Seems simple enough to me. There are wise words from the likes of Dunc and Ted on various threads if you can be bothered to look for them. You'll see that the values of your players haven't actually changed. Overall doesn't actually matter for anything, what you already know, but temporarily forget, is that individual ratings are what count and the various coaching actions are there to move those around. So if your player has gone up by 5 in one skill and down by 5 in another then maybe he's better in a different position. Maybe he's worse. If he already scores 95/95/95 in a position then maybe stop messing with him. Dunno, just a thought.
There are probably more questions but I actually need to process some turns today, there'll be a knock on the door at 7:30 and if your turns haven't gone out by then then hard luck....
